1.1 These Terms of Use for Free Services (the “Terms”) govern the use of the free services offered by Binders Media BV, having its registered office at Volmolenstraat 29, B-9000 Ghent, Belgium, registered with the Belgian Crossroads Bank for Enterprises under company number 0657.817.970 (hereinafter “Binders Media”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
1.2 Binders Media offers two distinct free services through its website and platform:
(a) The Instant Manual Creator — a free, one-time AI-powered manual generation feature accessible directly on the Manual.to website without requiring an account (the “Instant Creator”). Users upload a video file, the AI analyzes it and generates a visual step-by-step manual. This is a demonstration of the Manual.to AI technology. No account is required.
(b) The 7-Day Free Trial — a time-limited, full-access trial of the Manual.to platform (the “Free Trial”). Upon request from the user, Binders Media creates a dedicated workspace which the user can access for seven (7) calendar days. An account is required.
1.3 These Terms supplement and are to be read in conjunction with the Manual.to General Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the General Terms of Service, these Terms shall prevail with respect to the free services described herein.
1.4 By uploading a file to the Instant Creator, or by requesting a Free Trial, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms.
This Part A applies specifically to the use of the Instant Creator feature on the Manual.to website.
A1.1 The Instant Creator is a free, publicly accessible feature that allows any visitor of the Manual.to website to upload a video file, which is then analyzed by artificial intelligence (“AI”) to automatically generate a visual step-by-step manual (the “Generated Manual”).
A1.2 The Instant Creator is intended as a one-time demonstration of the Manual.to AI technology. It is not a subscription, nor does it create a contractual relationship for ongoing services. No account creation is required.
A1.3 The Generated Manual is made available to the user via a shareable link. The user may view, share and download a QR code for the Generated Manual.
A2.1 The Instant Creator is available to any person aged 18 or older.
A2.2 Binders Media reserves the right to impose usage limits on the Instant Creator (including but not limited to limits on file size, video duration, number of manuals per user, or frequency of use) and to modify such limits at any time without prior notice.
A2.3 Binders Media reserves the right to restrict or block access to the Instant Creator for any user who, in Binders Media’s sole discretion, engages in excessive or abusive use, including but not limited to automated or scripted uploads.
(a) You are solely and entirely responsible for all content you upload to the Instant Creator (the “Uploaded Content”). The Instant Creator is a publicly accessible feature with no account verification. You acknowledge that you bear full legal responsibility for any content you submit.
(b) By uploading content, you represent and warrant that:
(i) You own or have obtained all necessary rights, licenses, consents and permissions to upload the content and to authorize Binders Media to process it as described herein.
(ii) If the Uploaded Content contains images, voices or other personal data of identifiable individuals, you have obtained valid consent from those individuals in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the GDPR.
(iii) The Uploaded Content does not infringe any intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or any other rights of any third party.
Binders Media enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy for the following categories of content. Uploading any of the following is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate blocking, deletion, reporting to law enforcement, and legal action:
(a) Sexual and explicit content — Pornographic material, sexually explicit videos, nudity, or any content of a sexual nature.
(b) Child exploitation material — Any content depicting, suggesting, or relating to the sexual exploitation or abuse of minors. Such content will be immediately reported to the relevant law enforcement authorities and organizations such as the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or equivalent bodies.
(c) Violence and gore — Content depicting graphic violence, torture, mutilation, or gratuitous depictions of bodily harm.
(d) Terrorism and extremism — Content promoting, glorifying or facilitating terrorist acts, violent extremism, or radicalization.
(e) Hate speech and discrimination — Content that promotes hatred, violence or discrimination against any individual or group based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
(f) Illegal activities — Content that promotes, instructs, or facilitates any illegal activity, including but not limited to drug manufacturing, weapons production, human trafficking, or fraud.
(g) Harassment and threats — Content intended to harass, intimidate, stalk, or threaten any individual.
(h) Malware and harmful code — Files containing viruses, trojans, ransomware, or any code designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to systems.
(i) Deceptive or fraudulent content — Content created with the intent to deceive, defraud, or mislead, including deepfakes or manipulated media designed to impersonate real individuals without their consent.
(j) Regulated and controlled information — Classified state secrets, information subject to export control regulations, or content protected by professional secrecy obligations, unless all required authorizations have been obtained.
(a) Binders Media reserves the right, but is not obligated, to use automated and/or manual content moderation tools to screen Uploaded Content for prohibited material.
(b) Binders Media may, at its sole discretion and without prior notice: (i) refuse to process any Uploaded Content; (ii) remove any Uploaded Content or Generated Manual; (iii) block access for the user; and (iv) report content and associated technical data (including IP addresses) to the competent law enforcement authorities.
(c) If you encounter any Generated Manual that contains inappropriate or prohibited content, you may report it to abuse@manual.to.
(a) You are strongly advised not to upload content containing sensitive personal data as defined under Article 9 of the GDPR (e.g. health data, biometric data for identification purposes, data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, trade union membership, genetic data, or data concerning a person’s sex life or sexual orientation).
(b) If you upload content containing personal data of identifiable individuals (faces, voices, names, badge numbers, etc.), you acknowledge that you act as the data controller for such personal data and are solely responsible for: (i) informing those individuals; (ii) obtaining valid consent or establishing another lawful basis; (iii) conducting data protection impact assessments where required; and (iv) full compliance with all applicable data protection laws.
(c) Binders Media processes such data solely as a technical processor for the purpose of generating the manual, and shall not be held liable for your failure to comply with your obligations regarding personal data in Uploaded Content.
(a) The Generated Manual is produced by artificial intelligence and is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
(b) AI technology has inherent limitations. The Generated Manual may contain: inaccuracies, errors, omissions, misinterpretations of video content, incorrect sequencing of steps, incomplete instructions, or irrelevant information. Binders Media does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or fitness for any particular purpose of any Generated Manual.
(c) The Generated Manual is intended as a draft and starting point only. You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, editing and validating the Generated Manual before any use, distribution, or reliance upon it.
(a) WARNING: Generated Manuals must never be used as-is in safety-critical contexts, including but not limited to: health and safety instructions, emergency procedures, medical or pharmaceutical protocols, equipment maintenance affecting physical safety, handling of hazardous materials, food safety procedures, or any other application where inaccurate instructions could result in injury, death, environmental damage, or property damage.
(b) For all safety-related use cases, Generated Manuals must be thoroughly reviewed, verified and formally approved by a qualified subject-matter expert before being put into use.
(c) Binders Media expressly disclaims all liability for any harm, injury, damage, or loss resulting from the use of or reliance on unverified AI-generated content.
(a) Subject to Binders Media’s intellectual property rights in the Manual.to platform, its AI technology, templates, formatting, and design, you own the substantive content of the Generated Manual derived from your Uploaded Content.
(b) Binders Media retains all rights in the format, layout, template design, and visual presentation of the Generated Manual.
(c) By using the Instant Creator, you grant Binders Media a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use anonymized and aggregated data derived from the interaction (structural patterns, processing metrics, technical performance data) for the purpose of improving the platform and its AI. This license does not extend to the specific substantive content of your manuals.
(a) Generated Manuals are made available via a shareable link. Once you share this link, anyone with the link can access the Generated Manual. Binders Media is not responsible for the further distribution of content you have made publicly accessible.
(b) Binders Media may remove or disable access to any Generated Manual at any time, without prior notice, particularly in case of violation of these Terms.
(c) Generated Manuals created through the Instant Creator may be retained on the platform for a limited period as determined by Binders Media. Binders Media reserves the right to delete Generated Manuals at any time without prior notice.
A5.1 When you use the Instant Creator without creating an account, we process the following data: your IP address, browser and device information, the Uploaded Content, and the Generated Manual.
A5.2 The Uploaded Content is transmitted to AI service providers for analysis and manual generation. These providers are bound by data processing agreements in compliance with the GDPR. Data may be temporarily processed outside the EU with appropriate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses) in place.
A5.3 All data is stored on Microsoft Azure servers in the European Union (Netherlands).
A5.4 Uploaded Content may be deleted after AI processing is complete. Generated Manuals remain accessible via their link for a limited period determined by Binders Media.
A5.5 For full details on how we process personal data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
A6.1 The Instant Creator is a free service provided without any warranty. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Binders Media shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages arising out of or in connection with the use of the Instant Creator, including but not limited to:
(a) Damages resulting from the use of or reliance on AI-generated content.
(b) Errors, inaccuracies or omissions in Generated Manuals.
(c) Loss of data, business interruption, or loss of profits.
(d) Injury, death, or property damage resulting from reliance on unverified Generated Manuals.
(e) Any consequences of the user’s upload of prohibited, infringing, or unlawful content.
(f) Unauthorized access to or distribution of Generated Manuals shared via public links.
A6.2 In any event, Binders Media’s aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Instant Creator shall not exceed fifty euros (€50).
A6.3 Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit liability for: (i) death or personal injury caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct; (ii) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (iii) any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable Belgian law.
This Part B applies specifically to the 7-Day Free Trial of the Manual.to platform.
B1.1 The Free Trial provides full access to the Manual.to platform for a period of seven (7) calendar days (the “Trial Period”). The Free Trial includes all platform features: AI-powered manual creation, automatic translation (200+ languages), team workspace, smart search, usage analytics, version control, integrations, and QR code export.
B1.2 To access the Free Trial, you must submit a request through the Manual.to website. Upon receipt of your request, Binders Media will manually create a dedicated workspace for you. The Trial Period begins on the date the workspace is made available and communicated to you.
B1.3 No credit card or payment information is required to activate the Free Trial.
B1.4 An account is required. By requesting a Free Trial, you agree to provide accurate and complete information, including your name, email address, and organization details (if applicable).
B2.1 The Free Trial is available to any natural person aged 18 or older, or any legal entity duly represented by an authorized individual.
B2.2 The Free Trial is intended for professional and business evaluation purposes, to allow prospective customers to assess the Manual.to platform before subscribing to a paid plan.
B2.3 Each individual or organization is entitled to one (1) Free Trial. Binders Media reserves the right to deny or terminate any Free Trial if it reasonably suspects abuse, including the creation of multiple accounts or repeated trial requests.
B3.1 The Trial Period lasts seven (7) calendar days from the date the workspace is made available to you.
B3.2 At the end of the Trial Period:
(a) Your access to the platform will be suspended unless you subscribe to a paid plan.
(b) All content created and uploaded during the Trial Period will be retained for thirty (30) calendar days following the end of the Trial Period, during which you may subscribe to regain access.
(c) After the 30-day retention period, Binders Media reserves the right to permanently delete all content associated with the expired Free Trial, without further notice.
B3.3 Binders Media reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Free Trial offering at any time, without prior notice and without liability.
B4.1 The provisions of Part A, Section A3 (Uploaded Content — Rules & Restrictions) apply equally to all content uploaded during the Free Trial, including the zero-tolerance policy on prohibited content (Section A3.2), sensitive personal data provisions (Section A3.4), and user warranties.
B4.2 The provisions of Part A, Section A4 (AI-Generated Manuals — Disclaimers) apply equally to all content generated during the Free Trial, including the safety disclaimer (Section A4.2) and AI accuracy disclaimers (Section A4.1).
B4.3 Ownership: You retain all rights in your Uploaded Content and the substantive content of Generated Manuals. Binders Media retains all rights in the platform, AI technology, templates, formatting and design. The license granted in Section A4.3(c) applies equally to content processed during the Free Trial.
B5.1 When you create a Free Trial account, we collect and process: your name, email address, organization name, language preference, and any other information you provide during registration.
B5.2 When you use the Free Trial on behalf of your employer or organization, your organization acts as the data controller, and Binders Media acts as a data processor in accordance with the applicable Data Processing Agreement. In such cases, consult your organization’s data protection policies before uploading content containing personal data.
B5.3 When you use the Free Trial as an individual (not on behalf of an organization), Binders Media acts as the data controller.
B5.4 All data is stored on Microsoft Azure servers in the European Union (Netherlands). In the course of AI processing, data may be temporarily transferred to servers outside the EU with appropriate safeguards in place (Standard Contractual Clauses).
B5.5 You may exercise your rights under the GDPR by contacting our Data Protection Officer at dpo@manual.to. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
B6.1 The Free Trial is provided without charge and on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis, without warranties of any kind.
B6.2 To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Binders Media shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages arising out of or in connection with the Free Trial.
B6.3 In any event, Binders Media’s aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Free Trial shall not exceed one hundred euros (€100).
B6.4 Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit liability for: (i) death or personal injury caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct; (ii) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (iii) any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable Belgian law.
B7.1 At any time during or after the Trial Period (subject to Section B3.2), you may subscribe to a paid plan. Upon subscription, the General Terms of Service shall apply in full.
B7.2 Content created during the Free Trial will be migrated to your paid account, subject to availability per Section B3.2.
B7.3 Binders Media may, at its sole discretion, offer promotional pricing to Free Trial users. Such offers are non-binding and may be withdrawn at any time.
B8.1 The Free Trial terminates automatically at the end of the Trial Period.
B8.2 You may terminate your Free Trial at any time by contacting us at terms@manual.to. The data retention provisions of Section B3.2 shall apply.
B8.3 Binders Media may terminate or suspend your Free Trial at any time, without prior notice, if: (i) you breach any provision of these Terms; (ii) Binders Media detects abusive or fraudulent use; or (iii) Binders Media decides to discontinue the Free Trial.
This Part C applies to both the Instant Creator and the Free Trial.
C1.1 You shall not:
(a) Use any free service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws or regulations.
(b) Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract the source code, algorithms or models underlying the AI technology.
(c) Use automated systems, scripts, or bots to interact with the services in an abusive manner, including mass-uploading files to extract AI processing capacity.
(d) Circumvent any technical limitations, rate limits, or security measures.
(e) Use the free services to develop, train, or improve a competing product or service.
(f) Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the services or any Generated Manuals for commercial purposes without a paid subscription.
(g) Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation.
(h) Upload content you know to be inaccurate with the intent of generating misleading instructions.
C2.1 The Manual.to platform, including its AI technology, algorithms, models, software, design, templates, user interface, documentation and all related intellectual property rights, are and remain the exclusive property of Binders Media.
C2.2 Any feedback, suggestions or ideas you provide regarding the platform may be used by Binders Media without restriction or compensation.
C3.1 You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Binders Media, its officers, directors, employees, agents and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
(a) Your use of the free services in violation of these Terms.
(b) Your Uploaded Content, including claims related to intellectual property infringement, privacy violations, or prohibited content.
(c) Your distribution or use of Generated Manuals without proper verification.
(d) Your failure to comply with applicable data protection laws regarding personal data in Uploaded Content.
(e) Any third-party claims resulting from your sharing of Generated Manuals.
C4.1 These Terms are governed by and shall be interpreted in accordance with Belgian law, without giving effect to any laws of conflict.
C4.2 Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Ghent, Belgium.
C5.1 Severability. If any provision is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
C5.2 Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with the General Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement regarding the free services.
C5.3 Amendments. Binders Media may modify these Terms at any time. Changes take effect upon publication on this page.
C5.4 Language. These Terms are drafted in English. The English version prevails over any translation.
C5.5 Waiver. No failure to exercise a right constitutes a waiver.
C5.6 Assignment. You may not assign your rights. Binders Media may assign its rights to an affiliate or successor.
C5.7 Survival. Provisions intended to survive termination shall survive, including: prohibited content rules (A3.2), disclaimers (A4), liability limitations (A6, B6), intellectual property (C2), indemnification (C3), and governing law (C4).

“AI” means the artificial intelligence technology used by the Manual.to platform to analyze Uploaded Content and generate manuals.
“Free Trial” means the 7-day complimentary access to the full Manual.to platform as described in Part B.
“Generated Manual” means any manual, guide, or instruction output created by the AI from the User’s Uploaded Content.
“Instant Creator” means the free, one-time AI-powered manual generation feature accessible on the Manual.to website without an account, as described in Part A.
“Platform” means the Manual.to platform accessible at manual.to, including all features, tools and functionalities.
“Trial Period” means the period of seven (7) calendar days from the date the Free Trial workspace is made available to the user.
“Uploaded Content” means any files, videos, documents or other materials uploaded by the user to the Instant Creator or the Platform.
“User” means any individual or entity that uses the Instant Creator or the Free Trial.
